Graduate Grants
The Nanovic Institute provides funding and fellowships to graduate students from all fields that engage Europe and European ideas.
The Institute supports graduate education through a number of grant programs including research, conference, and language funding as well as competitive dissertation fellowships and the Institute’s Graduate Fellows Program. While the Nanovic Institute accepts proposals from students with wide ranging interests in European Studies, the Institute prioritizes the funding of applications which directly engage the Institute's strategic plan.The Institute welcomes graduate student contributions to all aspects of the intellectual life of our community.

Grant Opportunities
Research Grants
The Nanovic Institute offers two graduate research grants: academic year and summer grants. These awards support a wide variety of graduate student research in Europe studies. Grants can be used to conduct research necessary for the development or completion of a thesis, dissertation, or publication. Academic year grants cannot interfere with any on-campus commitments or responsibilities.

Graduate Internship & Service Grants
The Graduate Internship & Service Grant supports graduate students who have independently arranged summer internships or volunteer opportunities in Europe. The grant funds a variety of foreign-language and English-speaking opportunities that allow students to build their professional experience while simultaneously sharpening their knowledge of a European language and culture.

Conference Presentation Grant
The Graduate Conference Presentation Grant supports opportunities for students to travel domestically and in Europe to conferences to present their work in European Studies.

Advanced Language Training
The Nanovic Institute supports graduate students continuing the study of European language through the Advanced Language Training grant. This grant is available to students seeking to advance their study of a given European language. The language should contribute to the student's academic work or professional aspirations.

Dissertation Fellowships
The Nanovic Institute for European studies supports graduate students in the completion of their dissertation projects through Dissertation Fellowships. This funding is designed to allow students to devote full attention to completing their dissertation for an entire academic year.
