Welcome to the home for European Studies at Notre Dame! The Nanovic Institute's EURO courses explore European ideas, individuals, and institutions across time. One credit "gateway" courses introduce students to the breadth and depth of European Studies, while three credit courses offer students a deep-dive into the specific concepts and events that have and continue to shape Europe and the world. With an emphasis on learning beyond the classroom, many of the Institute's courses offer immersive experiences in Europe and elsewhere including the Deloitte International Business Scholars, Model EU, and Diplomacy Scholars.
The Nanovic Institute’s academic programs currently consist of the Minor in European Studies and the Concentration in Transnational European Studies (for students enrolled in the Supplementary Major in Global Affairs). The courses offered under the EURO course code and courses with the MESE attribute fulfill various curricular requirements within both of these academic programs. Students from all majors and colleges are encouraged to enroll in EURO courses.
