Beauty that Leads to Faith

Dr. Barbara Jatta, director of the Vatican museums, was invited to give the 2021 Keeley Vatican Lecture. She delivered a lecture entitled “Vatican Museums: Future Perspectives,” and was introduced by Rev. John I Jenkins, C.S.C., president of the University of Notre Dame.

Although the global pandemic prevented an in-person event, as with the museums’ modified celebrations of the Italian Renaissance artist Raphael, Dr. Jatta enriched this virtual experience with an exquisite exhibition of beauty, creativity, and inspiration. Over 200 attendees viewed the lecture from across four continents.

The Institute has prepared an event brief that summarizes Dr. Jatta’s lecture and has made available a live recording for anyone who would like to catch up with or rewatch the event.
