This is the second event of Caffè Europa and it is part of the RGG Spotlight Series. This event is co-sponsored by the Nanovic Institute and the Center for Italian Studies.

The 2022 Italian general election is due to be held in Italy on 25 September 2022. Speakers On. Gunther Krichbaum - European Politics spokesperson for the CDU/CSU parliamentary group in the German Bundestag and Eszter Salgó - Lecturer in Political Science and International Affairs, John Cabot University moderated by Christopher White - NCR's Vatican correspondent will comment on the impact of Italian elections from an international perspective.

This event is part of the EU Scholars Pilot Program. The EU Scholars Program, which aims at deepening ND students' understanding of the European Union while they are studying in Europe is a Nanovic Institute program and the Rome and the Dublin Global Gateways are taking part in it. A select group of students in Rome are spending the first half of the fall semester meeting with experts from the political, non-governmental, and private sectors learning about the role of the EU. At the end of October, they will travel to Brussels for an immersive study trip, during which they will visit EU Institutions and meet with representatives from Ireland and Italy to better understand the links between European governance and domestic affairs.
