The Nanovic Institute for European Studies convenes a Catholic leadership program in Rome, which is an opportunity for a select group of leaders from Catholic universities in Central and Eastern Europe to focus on building resilience into leadership.
The program provides its participants—many of whom are graduates of the Nanovic Institute’s Catholic Leadership Program, an executive program at Notre Dame for Catholic leadership focused on management skills, strategic planning, and philanthropy development—an opportunity to renew and deepen their leadership, time management, and relationship-building skills through the lens of resilience. It will also provide a spiritual retreat component to deliver critical, intentional opportunities for reflection and integration of mission into university priorities and daily work and focus.
Featured presenters include:
- Rev. Friedrich Bechina, F.S.O., Undersecretary of the Vatican’s Pontifical Congregation for Catholic Education;
- David Buckley, Operating Partner with General Atlantic and member of the Nanovic Institute’s advisory board who previously served at McKinsey & Company; and
- Carolyn Woo, Dean of Mendoza College of Business 1997-2011, president and CEO of Catholic Relief Services 2012-2016, and is now a Distinguished President’s Fellow for Global Development at Purdue University.
Building on the strengths of the Institute’s initial Catholic Leadership Program, this initiative will reinforce skills, continue to deepen the valuable network of the Catholic Universities Partnership, and strengthen these significant institutions and the societies they serve.
