Iris Moon is an assistant curator at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. She specializes in 18th- and 19th-century French art, architecture, and the decorative arts. She earned her PhD from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and has held fellowships at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Clark Art Institute, and the Getty Research Institute. Her book, The Architecture of Percier and Fontaine and the Struggle for Sovereignty in Revolutionary France (Routledge, 2016) explores how interior decoration constituted a crucial form of architectural practice that engendered a new awareness of time, memory, and political identity in the wake of the Revolution.
