Golosá is Chicago’s premiere Russian choir, founded in 1997 and dedicated to sharing the rich and exuberant traditions of Russian folk music. From Cossack marching tunes to hymns of the Orthodox Church to songs of contemporary Russian artists, Golosá in-corporates traditional instruments and dances to tell stories of love, war, and devotion.
Golosá strives to preserve the music and culture of the Siberian Old Believers and of Russian folk singing in general. They passion-ately dedicate themselves to singing this music for audiences in the Chicago area and beyond. Since its founding, over 100 members have passed through Golosá’s ranks, and together they have created something which is at once traditional and uniquely their own. We hope that you will have a chance to come and hear them sing! The concert is open to the public, and admission is free!
