Allen Fisher Talk "Testing and Experimenting"

Allen Fisher, a poet, painter, publisher and art historian, will be giving the talk “Testing and Experimenting” on Thursday afternoon.

A public reading from his collection Gravity on will take place Thursday night at the Hammes Bookstore on Notre Dame’s campus (7:30 PM).

Living in Hereford, UK, Allen Fisher serves as an Emeritus Professor of Poetry & Art at Manchester Metropolitan University and Visiting Professor at the University of Northumbria. He has over 140 single-authored publications of poetry, graphics and art documentation. His work has been exhibited in many shows from Fluxus Britannica Tate Britain to Lifting from fear King’s Gallery York. Examples of his work are in the Tate Collection, the Living Museum, Iceland and various private collections in United States of America, United Arab Emirates and Britain. His last eight books were Proposals: poem-image-commentary; Birds; Leans; Confidence in lack, essays; Singularity Stereo, Place; Entanglement; and Gravity. His recent tour of work has been held under the banner Complexity Manifold, which has been heard in Albany, Buffalo, Cambridge UK, London, New York and Ohio.
