Fr. Andrii Shestak is the School of Journalism and Communications director and vice dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences at Ukrainian Catholic University in Lviv, Ukraine. He obtained his Licentiate in social communication from the Pontifical University of Holy Cross in Rome in 2018 and holds master's degrees in Theology and Philosophy from Ternopil High Spiritual Seminary, Ukraine, and in Pedagogy from King Danylo Halytskyi University, Ukraine. He was ordained as a priest of the Ukrainian Greek-Catholic Church in 2019. At Notre Dame, he conducted research and developed teaching materials that focus on how the formation of meaning-making ideas that are enlightened by faith can nourish understandings of freedom in the context of post-soviet Ukraine.
