Susan is Vice President and Associate General Counsel for MetLife, a Fortune 50 Company that is a leading provider of insurance and other financial protection products. In this role, Susan leads the Global Employment Practices Unit, handling employment law matters, with regard to approximately 65,000 employees worldwide. Prior to joining MetLife, Susan worked in several Pennsylvania law firms, including her family’s firm, Nanovic Law Offices. She has published several articles, including “Employer Health-Care Plans: The Feasibility of Disability-Based Distinctions Under ERISA and the Americans With Disabilities Act,” Hofstra Labor Law Journal, Spring 1995 and “The Living Will – The Right to Die Demands Clarity and Consistency,” Dickinson Law Review, Fall 1990. Susan grew up in Palmerton, Pennsylvania, in a fiercely-devoted Notre Dame family, as her father, three brothers and one sister (among other family members) graduated from Notre Dame. Susan and her husband John have 2 children. They reside in Chappaqua, New York and enjoy swimming, golfing, running and cycling.
