The Nanovic Institute will host an event for the campus community to commemorate the fourth year since Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine began. All are invited to join in this time to show solidarity with our friends and partners in Ukraine.
The content of this lecture will be delivered by Ambassador Kent Logsdon. Ambassador Logsdon is the most recent United States Ambassador to the Republic of Moldova, a former Soviet republic that shares borders Ukraine and Romania. In his lecture, he will describe Russia’s efforts to destabilize and control Moldova and the Moldovan Government’s success in defending its democracy and moving the country toward the European Union and the West.
Lunch will be available beginning at 12:00 p.m., while supplies last.
This event is part of the Nanovic Forum series, hosted by the Nanovic Institute for European Studies.
About the Speaker
Kent Logsdon, a Notre Dame alumnus, has served with the US Department of State for more than 34 years. In that time, he has primarily been stationed within Europe and Eurasia. Notably, he served as chargé d'affaires of the US Embassy in Berlin, Germany, from January 2017 to May 2018 before being named US ambassador to Moldova in 2022.
Ambassador Logsdon will be serving as a diplomat in residence during the spring 2026 semester, teaching in the Deep Dive into Diplomacy course and mentoring students.
