The Nanovic Institute, with its strategic emphasis on “peripheries” and de-centering the center, is committed to fostering research and teaching that takes a fresh look at European Studies.

Next Spring Semester, we will host a speaker series on “Decolonizing Scholarship” that invites speakers from various academic disciplines to give lectures and seminars that discuss what decolonizing scholarship means in different fields and demonstrates how they are decolonizing their research.

To get the conversation started, we are hosting a 1.5-hour faculty workshop on December 2, 2022 from 3:30-5 pm to discuss our ideas about approaches to decolonizing our own scholarship. Please join us for this interactive workshop ready to share, reflect, and learn!

The workshop will be led by a wonderful colleague, Nanovic Institute Faculty Fellow Meredith Chesson, Professor of Anthropology, and involve active discussions in small and large groups. We will provide snacks and beverages to keep energies and dialogue flowing.

To register, please email Abigail Lewis: alewis26@nd.edu.  Preparatory materials will be sent with your confirmation.
