Salvatore Riolo

Research Assistant

Salvatore Riolo is a Ph.D. candidate in Italian Studies at the University of Notre Dame. He holds a B.A. in Languages, Civilizations, and the Science of Language from the University of Venice and an M.A. in Italian Language and Culture for Foreigners from the University of Bologna.
His dissertation examines the eighteenth-century European translations of the Divine Comedy, with a strong focus on the transnational and intermedial practices that shaped Dante’s modern fortune. His research interests include Translation Studies, Dante Reception, and World Literature.
Salvatore is a Research Assistant at the Nanovic Institute for European Studies, the chief-Curator of the RBSC exhibit “Mapping Global Dante in Translation,” a Graduate Student Government representative for RLL, and a member of the International Network for the Comparative Humanities (INCH).
