Bioethics

Rev. Vladimír Littva received his Ph.D. in philosophy from the Catholic University in Lublin, Poland and is currently head of the Department of Bioethics and Pastoral Medicine at the Catholic University in Ružomberok, Slovakia. During his time at the Nanovic Institute, he has made substantial progress on a textbook (An Introduction to Bioethics and Healthcare Ethics) for nursing students in Slovakia and written several essays on bioethics, healthcare ethics, and even ancient philosophy, particularly the works of St. Augustine. His scholarly work also includes a habilitation thesis entitled “Ethics and New Ways of Transplant Procurement in Regenerative Medicine.”
