Senior Associate Director

Grant Osborn is the senior associate director for the Nanovic Institute for European Studies. In this role, he serves as leader of the Nanovic staff and advances the Institute's research and strategic initiatives. Prior to joining the Institute in 2019, Grant served Notre Dame Research for more than seven years, including five at the Notre Dame Institute for Advanced Study, managing grants and directing its marketing and communications programs. During this time, he was active on more than a half dozen service committees and part of teams that received a Telly and two CASE awards.

A Double Domer, Grant received a bachelor’s degree in biological sciences in 2006 and a master of fine arts degree in creative writing in 2009. For his contributions and achievement in writing while a graduate student, Grant was honored with the William Mitchell award. His research interests include 19th and 20th-century Irish poetry as well as the oneiric trope in literature. He serves on the board of directors for the Snite Museum of Art.
