Conversation with Diplomat: Umut Acar (Consul General of Turkey)

Umut Acar, Consul General of the Republic of Turkey in Chicago, will be at the Nanovic Institute on March 7th to give a lecture entitled, "Perspectives on Contemporary Turkey," and lead a discussion with those in attendance.  The event will take place in 1050 Nanovic Hall from 12:30-1:30 and is free and open to all.  Lunch will be provided while supplies last.

 

Educated in Ankara, Mr. Acar started his career at the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1998 and has previously served as the head of the Department for Administrative and Financial Affairs (2013-14) and Chief of Cabinet of the Minister (2014-15).  In October 2015 he began working in his current position as Consul General of the Republic of Turkey in Chicago.
