Catriona Seth, Professor of French Literature, Université de Nancy II, and Visiting Professor Indiana University Bloomington
A native of the UK, Catriona Seth (ancienne eleve de la Sorbonne) is Professeur de littérature française du XVIIIe siècle at the Université de Nancy II (France). She is also currently visiting professor at Indiana University (Bloomington). She is the author of various books and articles on 18th-century literature and the history of ideas including Marie-Antoinette: Anthologie et dictionnaire (2006) and Les rois aussi en mouraient: Les Lumières en lutte contre la petite vérole (2008). She has edited sets of essays on Sade, Staël,the body and, most recently, gothic literature in French (Imaginaires gothiques. Aux sources du roman noir français, 2010). She is currently preparing an edition of Laclos’ Les Liaisons dangereuses for the Bibliothèque de la Pléiade and has ongoing projects on foundlings and on women’s autobiographical writings in the long 18th century.
