Conference: Music and the Middlebrow

Music and the Middlebrow is an interdisciplinary, transnational research project exploring the relationship between musical culture and the middlebrow.  The centerpiece will be a three-day conference held at the University of Notre Dame’s London Global Gateway June 22-24, 2017.  Nanovic Fellow Christopher Chowrimootoo from the University of Notre Dame Program in Liberal Studies will be one of the principal investigators along with academics from the University of Bristol, Norwegian University, King's College London, University of Oxford, Duke University, and St. Catherine's College, Oxford.

Sponsored by the University of Notre Dame's Institute for Scholars in the Liberal Arts and the Nanovic Institute for European Studies as well as the Royal Music Association, Music in London 1800-1851, and the University of Bristol.
