Melanie Webb

Associate Director

Melanie Webb serves as associate director for the Nanovic Institute for European Studies and is responsible for strategic financial planning, event strategy and development, hospitality culture management, visiting scholar and faculty fellow appointments, and human resources administration. Following a 20-year career in broadcasting, Melanie joined Notre Dame and the Nanovic Institute in 2011 as events coordinator and rose to events program manager, then assistant director for operations, before transitioning to her current position in 2023.

Melanie earned a bachelor’s degree in film and video studies from the University of Michigan, spending her junior year at the University of Kent, Canterbury, England. As a student she explored Western Europe by rail, staying in youth hostels and enjoying the company of other young travelers along the way. Her passion is interior design; she earned a certificate from Ivy Tech and worked for a year in a textiles showroom at Chicago’s Merchandise Mart.
